About me…

My name is Heiko Hatzfeld and I am an “IT-Guy”. I have been working in the Microsoft Universe for quite some time. I am currently woking for novaCapta , a small & great (~25 employees) consulting company in Cologne (Germany).

 

I have been in the IT “for ages” or at least it feels like it. From my first C-64 to my current PC I have allways been in contact with computers. Most of my time i spend as a “developer-DBA” (Ok… Not on the C-64, but you get the point…) , so I actually had the chance to see the problems from both sides of the fence, which I think is good.

I have been working with Microsoft Technologies most of the time (VB.Net,C#, SQL-Server 7,2000,2005, ASP.Net, SharePoint) and i am holding a whole buch of MC… (MCSD, MCTS, MCIT-Pro, MCP, MCDonalds-Customer)

My (current) intrest lies in agile development, so feel free to bug me about Unit testing, mocking or refactoring. But you can also challenge me with some Database questions (currently preparing for the SQL 2008 beta exams… See my blogentry to get a free shot)

I also have a wife and now 3 nice kids (Benjamin(0), Helen(4) and Judith(7))… So there goes the rest of my “spare time” but it is fun. The time thats left after work, family and house is spend playing poker. I suck (=break even) at it, but i am having a lot of fun, and thats whats counts.

I try to take nothing to serious, especially myself.
